BIOGRAPHY

Ashley originally hails from Syracuse, New York and is a proud Honors graduate of the University of Virginia. Her parents had a slight inkling that their young daughter might have a penchant for performing when she would improvise extravagant dance routines in hotel lobbies whenever a live pianist was present. Another clue came when Ashley, at three years old, voluntarily entered a local talent contest and chose to sing “Born in the USA” while strumming on her hardcore plastic guitar. Ashley was first bitten by the acting bug at age nine, when she auditioned for the coveted role of a munchkin in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. Whether it was Ashley’s obvious passion for performing that attracted the casting director’s attention, or the multiple jazz hands Ashley incorporated into her audition song, she officially landed her first part!

Now, fifteen years later, Ashley is still doing what she loves most and even pursuing it as a career. At UVA, when there was no show for Ashley to audition for, she took on directing and vocal directing opportunities to further her knowledge of theater and to stay involved in what she loved most. After graduating from college, Ashley decided to make the infamous move to the Big Apple in order to pursue her childhood dream. So far, she has been very fortunate in obtaining roles and shows at wonderful theaters around the country, and hopes to continue in this direction! Ashley always has a blast in any show that she is fortunate enough to be a part of, but some of her very favorite roles include Little Sally (Urinetown), Little Red Riding Hood (Into the Woods), Babe O’Day (Good News), Young Violet (Violet), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical), The Girl (Veronica's Room), and Patsy (Crazy For You).
